It was 1994 when my wife, Marion, and I went to the mission field in Chile with our one-year-old Josia. 21 years later, God called us back to Germany with our then four children, without knowing what would happen next. A few months later, God’s further path was revealed in the Glaubenszentrum Bad Gandersheim, where I was allowed to take over the deputy management of the Bible school in 2017 and the management in 2019.
At the end of 2022, my wife and I experienced God’s words for our future at the same time and yet independently of each other. God clearly indicated that He would soon take me out of the Glaubenszentrum and that my next focus would be prayer. I have to say that I already had a special encounter with God many years ago, which completely supernaturally and radically changed my prayer life up to that point.
With the support of the leadership of the Glaubenszentrum, I was able to hand over my leadership role to my anointed successor Jan Achterberg on 16.05.24. The contact with Globe Mission that has developed over the years proved to be prepared by God, and I am expected to officially become part of the large GM missionary team in October 24.
My home office will be transformed into a full-time prayer room and I see myself actively being there for God in worship and praise, in prayer, intercession and supplication for all that is important to Him. The focus will be on both Germany and the whole world.
At the same time, I am intensifying my study of the Word of God.
Will I be doing the ministry alone? No. My wife is fully behind it and we see ourselves as a team that wants to stand before God in prayer together more than ever.
Such a “prayer ministry” is often unseen and perhaps misunderstood, but can we deny that Jesus himself cultivated a lifestyle of prayer and that the apostles also placed great value on this practice? So many promises lie in prayer and it is probably the most powerful weapon for us Christians. May our country in particular, and primarily the people of God, once again experience such intense and Spirit-led times of prayer and profound repentance, as well as such a holistic turning to God, that the Lord may respond with a true revival, or rather, that we may be alert and prepared for the great challenges that the future brings.
Along with prayer, I see more time for our marriage and our dear four grown-up children, the three wonderful grandchildren, our Christusgemeinde in Salzgitter Bad, and many other people who have become or will become part of our lives.
As before, I would like to continue to be active in preaching and teaching in the future.
John 14:13-14 (ELB) “And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
1 Timothy 2:1 (ELB) “I exhort therefore first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, giving of thanks, be made for all men.”
